My rings spin around because they are top
heavy. What can be done to correct this?
We recommend cleats, which are sometimes called sizing shot. We will solder two small balls in the same metal as your ring shank inside the shank where it sits on the underside of your finger. These act as stabilizers to keep your ring from spinning.
Because of my swollen knuckles, I can no
longer wear my rings. Is there any solution?
We can install a new Finger Fit™ or Finger Mate™ shank for you. These ring shanks have a hinge system that can open up large enough to allow you to put the ring on, and then snap closed for a good fit.
Do you work on sterling silver?
Yes, we work on a variety of metals including silver, platinum, gold and titanium.
Do you repair watches?
We perform minor repair work in the shop. We have batteries and watchbands and can install these while you wait. In addition, our expert watch repairperson, with more than 50 years experience, is on call for more extensive repairs.
What does your laser welding do?
This incredibly versatile machine allows us to do jobs that could not be done before including welding titanium eyeglasses and putting prongs on rings containing heat-sensitive gemstones without having to un-mount those stones.
Can you remove the curse from my old wedding
set?
We can melt down the metal and make you something totally different and new.
If I bring you a picture, can you design
a pendant for my wife?
If you can sketch it, we can have it made in yellow or white gold, platinum, even multi-colored gold, with gemstones or without.
Do you work on 18 or 22kt. gold?
Yes, we work with a variety of precious metals.
How long does it take to re-size a ring?
Usually only a few days. We generally work on a first-come, first-served basis but will occasionally do back flips in an effort to be accommodating if you are in an emergency situation!
Can you clean and check my rings?
Yes, we are happy to perform this service free of charge for you while you wait.

Do you monogram or engrave?
We do engrave your gift items, even if you’ve purchased them elsewhere. If you purchase the gift from us, engraving is discounted.
Do you have colored gemstone jewelry?
Yes, as a matter of fact, we feature one of the largest selections of rare and natural colored gemstones in southwestern Virginia, both loose stones and set in jewelry. We also carry fancy colored diamonds.
I received a watch as a gift but it’s too
big. Can you adjust the band?
We can adjust the band by removing links in most cases. We do this while you wait.
Do you do appraisals?
Yes, our extensive educational credentials enable us to offer jewelry appraisal services to our customers.
Do you carry estate jewelry?
We are very selective in obtaining estate pieces and are happy to look for specific pieces meeting your needs.
